Aaaand that’s a wrap! 🥳 I had an amazing time on my #psychiatry placement which was made even more enjoyable because I wasn’t expecting it! Very grateful for the kind words from my consultants and the whole team and most of all, the memories of doing squats on our team away day!

Really interesting thread on how stress can show up in the body unconsciously through psychosomatic symptoms, especially at the end of life. The point about increased terminal agitation in patients who deteriorate rapidly or have short prognoses really stood out. Thanks, Tony!

Final thought.. Might we see more terminal agitation in the future? -Social isolation is building -Financial hardship is rising -Health and Social care are struggling Social determinants of health lie at the heart of how we love and die
