Just heard from the team - 80 new genomes hitting the ATCC Genome Portal next week - 4 fungal, 11 viral and 65 bacterial genomes! 🥳 Including an interesting fungal genome - Hyphozyma roseonigra - which will be the first genome ever sequenced for the genus. 🍄🧬 #genomics 👍

Today I had the chance to try an experimental dish prepared by the restaurant Alchemist. Oyster mushroom mycelium. As a microbiologist it felt so wrong to eat the contents of a Petri dish but I am glad I did; it was delicious! An interesting and promising alternative food source.
