I was just 0.06 away from First Class.
Four years of hard work, leadership, service, and growth. Today, I graduate from Joseph Ayo Babalola University with a BSc in International Relations and a CGPA of 4.44/5.00.
one of the stranger parts of being an adult is realising how many people have never questioned a single belief they inherited, not even out of curiosity.

That’s like saying Grade B should be 70–89 and Grade A should start at 90 just because anything below that doesn’t impress you.
You got a 5.0, good for you. But that doesn’t mean you get to look down on everyone else or decide what counts as excellence.
Sit this one out
The year I graduated from OAU, only two of us finished with First Class from the entire Faculty of Arts. I sometimes think this pattern has a lot to do with how Humanities subjects are assessed.
In Literature, for instance, you can produce a thoughtful, well-argued essay and still not receive an A because grading often depends on interpretation, originality, the strength of your argument, and, inevitably, the examiner’s judgment. There is rarely one single “correct” answer in the way there may be in more quantitative disciplines.
So when we compare who emerges as the best graduating student across faculties, I think we also have to consider differences in assessment culture, grading patterns, and how attainable extremely high scores are across disciplines.
if you have looked into this pattern very well, you would have realized that, people in Arts/Humanities/Social Sciences/Education don't graduate as best graduating students.
Also, same thing apply to JAMB UTME, hardly will you see 5% of students from Humanities writing the exam

Resentment is subtle and dangerous. It manifests in the careless labeling of children as stubborn, foolish, or worthless.
It appears when one becomes trapped in past grievances.
