Mothers of Sac City students are demanding a meeting with Superintendent Aguilar to urge him to work with educators! They have said they will not leave until it happens and stayed overnight. It’s safe to say that Cesar Chavez would be proud 💫 #SacCitySolidarity #SCTA4Students

BREAKING: @officialSCUSD Superintendent Aguilar finally came in the room. We implored him to work with us to address the severe staffing crisis in our district. We stood up for our students. We urged him to stay and bargain with us. He just left. #SCTA4Students #SacCitySolidarity

Let’s all ask ourselves why the district refuses to take the neutral mediator’s suggestions while SCTA agreed to do just that. Ask why Jorge Aguilar gets nearly half a million dollars and wants to freeze our wages. Get him out.

BREAKING: Negotiators for SCUSD refused to address key issues on the bargaining table related to staffing and student needs tonight. Negotiations broke off at 8:15pm. SCTA and @SEIU1021 will be on the picket lines and not in school tomorrow. #SCTA4Students #SacCitySolidarity

District administrators just announced they plan to close our schools if educators go on strike. They've spent more time planning to shut down our schools than working with us to resolve this strike. Our students deserve better. #SCTA4Students #SacCitySolidarity

Rude Parents, Episode 2: “[Student] spent 9 hours on the latest essay and earned a 60% which is 1% higher than an F. Conventions and structure alone should warrant a grade higher than a D-.” 🙂 It’s the condescension for me.

Rude parents: A series of statements that students’ parents have said to me. Episode 1: “[Student] isn't motivated in your class and yes you are part of the reason” in response to me reaching out to ask what I can do to support this student to get back on track and pass 👍🏼

I know we’re in a “kid business” … but it’s hard to be an effective administrator if you don’t love teachers too. They do the core work of the school, and it’s crucial that they feel valued and supported.

Congrats! You forced thousands of teachers to quit because of your attacks and misguided anger. Get ready for your child to: - be in a class of 60-80 students. - have an unqualified college student as their teacher. - have a sub most of the year. - have NO teacher at all.

Or as some parents will say: “No, he didn’t, and my child will not be learning about that in school because it’s uncomfortable.”

Two great passages from today's interview with the story's co-author, who bravely stood up to threats and intimidation from her campus administrators... keep up the great work, @CkmProspector! #JournalismWorks
