Iran Replaces UAE with Pakistan's Ports: After years of diplomatic efforts, Pakistan took the most official step towards activating the transit corridor with Iran. The directive issued by Pakistan's Ministry of Commerce grants permission for the transit of goods from third countries through the territory of this country to Iran, and specifies the road routes from the ports of Gwadar, Karachi, and Port Qasim to the Gobd and Taftan borders. In recent years, Iran has conducted a significant portion of its imports and transit through the ports of the United Arab Emirates (especially Jebel Ali); a route that has now become unstable due to the intensification of the maritime blockade and political changes in the region. In these circumstances, opening the Pakistan route not only increases the diversity of pathways but also strengthens the security of Iran's supply chain. (Fars News)
