In May 2016, 15-year-old Karinya “Yaya” Chen was in hospice care in Austin, Texas after years of fighting cancer. She had tickets to see Florence The Machine, but by the night of the concert, she was simply too sick to go.
So the people at Hospice Austin reached out to the band.
And Florence Welch came to her.
Florence and guitarist Rob Ackroyd walked into Karinya’s room and gave her the concert she couldn't make it to. They sang “Shake It Out” and “Dog Days Are Over,” with Karinya singing and harmonizing right alongside them.
A few months later, Karinya lost her battle with cancer at just 15 years old.
But for one afternoon, none of that seemed to matter.
There was just a young girl, one of her favorite singers, a guitar, a room full of people who loved her... and music.
Sometimes the smallest act of kindness can become one of the biggest moments of someone's life.
This is what being human is supposed to look like.🙏
🚨 NEW: The police officers who handcuffed Henry Nowak took 8 minutes to realise he had been stabbed
MALE POLICE OFFICER: I’m not sure he’s breathing.
FEMALE POLICE OFFICER: (Checks for pulse in neck)
MALE OFFICER: He's not breathing.
FEMALE OFFICER: Right let's get the handcuffs off.
MALE OFFICER: Let them know he's not breathing.
FEMALE OFFICER: Yeah. (Talks on police radio). From 4-8 we don’t think he’s breathing. Could we get another unit here please? Got no pulse.
MALE POLICE OFFICER: (Unlocks handcuffs). Medic or anything. ARV.
FEMALE OFFICER: (Talks on police radio). ARV towards [us] if we’ve got them with a defib.
MALE OFFICER: (Removes handcuffs)
MALE OFFICER: He’s not unconscious mate, he’s not breathing. (Continues chest compressions). Come on mate. That’s it, that’s it. Keep breathing. Come on. (Pauses briefly). No.
FEMALE OFFICER: No? Keep going.
MALE OFFICER: Come on mate. Stay with us.
FEMALE OFFICER: Yeah, that's it mate, come on.
MALE OFFICER: That’s it. Come on, take a breath. (Continues chest compressions). That’s it bro, I got you. Come on.

MALE OFFICER: No, I’m alright.
FEMALE OFFICER: Sure?
MALE OFFICER: Come on mate. Come on. That’s it. That’s it.
FEMALE OFFICER: Have you, can you put a torch … I just wanna make sure that he hasn’t been stabbed. Are you alright to hold it? Thank you.
FEMALE OFFICER 2: (Walks into view). Do you want me to do it? Here you are.
FEMALE OFFICER: Cheers mate. (Passes torch to female police officer). Right, they’re gonna want him down to skin level for defib.
FEMALE OFFICER 2: I’ve got some … oh SCAS are here.
FEMALE OFFICER: Have you got scissors? Grab some scissors.
MALE OFFICER: (Continues chest compressions). Come on mate. (Whispers). He’s fucking gone. He’s got blood coming out his nose. (Talks quietly). He’s fucking gone.
FEMALE OFFICER: Right, if you stretch that clothing for me. Stretch it out. Perfect. (Unseen gesture/cutting of clothing). There's a lot of blood.
MALE OFFICER: Has he been stabbed there?
FEMALE OFFICER: Yeah, he's got a stab... there's a mark there.
MALE OFFICER: That makes it worse. He's got a stab... I'm pushing on a fucking stab wound. (Sound of clothing being ripped)
FEMALE OFFICER: That's okay. It's fine. It's not... it's not coming out. It's fine. Keep going. Keep going. It's not bleeding out.

🚨NEW: It has been revealed that during Henry Nowak's trial, Hampshire police force sought to put out a statement condemning "disinformation" and to make Henry appear to be the aggressor, but were stopped by the Crown Prosecution Service
Henry's Nowak's family were "outraged"
SUPERB! Trevor Phillip's BEAUTIFULLY exposes David Lammy and Labour's sickening hypocrisy.
He shows him the receipts of them ALL saying it's ok to feel "fury" and "anger" over George Floyd, while they criticise Farage for saying the same about Henry Nowak.
Satisfying to watch.
I do not speak about politics often on this account. But this time I will.
He was eighteen. He was stabbed five times on a street in Southampton, UK. And in the minutes that decided whether he lived or died, the police handcuffed him, the victim, because his killer told them he was the aggressor and called him a racist. They did not believe Henry when he said he had been stabbed and could not breathe many times. By the time they understood, he was gone.
His death was not just the failure of a few individuals at the scene. It was the failure of a system that has lost its moral compass. A system of murderous empathy. A court has since ruled that the killer's story was, in the judge's own words, wholly false. The force has apologised for arresting a dying boy. But Henry is still dead.
For years our institutions have been shaped by ideas that sort people into fixed categories of victim and offender before the facts are known. These frameworks distort judgment at every level. Some learn to wield an accusation as a shield. Others, placed in authority, grow so afraid of being called biased that they abandon basic fairness and ordinary courage. The result is paralysis, confusion, and injustice, and on that night it was fatal.
This is not compassion. It is moral chaos, it is a true racism and it destroys real lives. It took Henry's. It will take more if we keep pretending nothing is wrong.
I honor Henry by refusing to look away. We owe him a society built on responsibility, equal treatment and same rules for everyone, and the courage to say plainly what is happening in front of us. Henry Nowak should still be alive.

“To me, Henry wasn't a headline or a court case. He was my best friends funny, caring, cheeky son. Henry had a way of making people smile without even trying. He had so much life ahead of him, so many plans, and so much love to give. When Henry was just a baby, Lucy gave me the honour of being his godmother. Our kids, like us shared their childhood. Henry's loved ones were just normal people and we were enjoying watching our kids grow into adults, naively taking for granted that we would see all the wonderful things that life had to offer them.
On December 5th 2025, when the news broke, life as we knew it stopped.
My focus in what I want to say will always be Henry and Henry's family.
But, nothing I could ever say would come close to explaining the pain of losing Henry. But alongside the heartbreak of losing Henry has been the pain of watching one of the kindest families I have ever known have their entire world torn apart.
I was lucky enough to grow up with the family of my best friends Lucy (Henry's Mum) and Katie (Henry's aunty). The family make everyone feel welcome. Their home is filled with kindness, warmth and laughter. No matter what life throws at them they always find a way to bring light to those around them. They are generous with their time, compassionate in their hearts, and the sort of people who make others feel like family too, including me and then my children. Their laughter is infectious, their support unwavering, and their love for one another shines through in everything they do.
My heart is broken for them, a very large part of them died on the day that monster chose to rip Henry from their lives. Yet even through their darkest days they continued to be the wonderful people that they are. Their focus during these dark times was to shine a light on and raise money for the charity that has helped them.
Then, 6 months after Henry's death, the heart ache continued as they had to face the trial. Being subjected to sit in a room with the monster who brutally murdered their son and watch the lies spill so easily from his mouth. A man who has not once showed an an ounce of remorse for what he did. They endured a living nightmare.
Thinking that things could not possibly get worse, in the last few weeks they have learned that the very institution that is there to protect us not only ignored Henry's plea for help, but they sided with the monster who put him on the ground .
Henry's family learned that his last moments were not only spent so afraid of the monster who attacked him but he was then wronged and let down by the police officer who I have no doubt, Henry assumed was there to help him.
That police officer handcuffed Henry and read him his rights. The last thing my best friend's beautiful boy heard before we lost him forever.
This image, we will never ever be able to erase from our minds. Family, friends and now the world, will have seen that image and we all have to live with it forever.
Shame on the monster who took you, shame on the police officer who should have helped you and shame on the organisation that trained the police officer to side with an incorrect racist slur over a dying young man. Shame on you all!!
You treated a loving caring intelligent hardworking young man, with such disregard and disrespect. You treated Henry's family, such good people, with such dishonesty! The lies have been inforgivable !! HOW DARE YOU.
Henry deserved so much more from this life. Henry and his family have been let down so badly.
THIS COULD HAPPEN AGAIN TO ANYONE, ANYONE'S CHILD.
This has to stop now.
Henry we will fight until the end for you. The world will know your name. You changed our lives for the better for being a part of it, I believe you will now go on to change the lives of others by the legacy you will leave.
God bless you my darling 💙”

Pep's first assistant has won the Premier League, his other assistant is succeeding him at City, his club captain is excelling at Bayern Munich. Forget trophies, this is his actual legacy.
Arteta winning a league title is also one of Pep’s great achievements Ngl, imagine coming in England and 10 years you leave it with your first assistant being the reigning Prem champ. Unreal legacy boost
