Tonight, the voters of Memphis were told their voices do not matter. Council’s vote will result in less police officers and more crime. It’s unfortunate some members of the body couldn’t put their trust in the very people who elected them.
@MayorMemphis Reality check: Memphis isn't going to solve its crime problem unless we solve poverty. More police aren't the answer and our political culture isn't lifting anyone out of poverty any time soon. The outlook is bleak.
@GrubOneOut @MayorMemphis To invite more buisness tonour city we need more officers to show businesses that we are willing to protect their investment. Why would anyone take a risk on start a buisness or expanding know ing their property wont be protected
@Samthebeef1 @GrubOneOut @MayorMemphis this is a really important point that you didn’t intend to make! cops protect investments, protect property, protect $$$ not people, not communities, not the LIVES and PROSPERITY of the constituents just businesses 🤷🏻♀️🤷🏻♀️
@Samthebeef1 @MayorMemphis We should structure our society around the welfare of our people not what's convenient for businesses.
