Road works is a critical path in engineering few contractors understand. Let's take simple Rural access roads. RAR. These Roads once you give them good drainage,they can even repair themselves. But making sure you give good ditches, horizontal formation, good graveling volume,proper compaction give them life and meaning. We offer our clients effective road construction that lasts ages. #RoadSafety #construccion #contractor #Engineering

So many times decision making in the construction field has been the main thing to deal with. At Sandler, because of vast experience in the technical field, mechanization is the only decision that makes the rest of decisions.

@Khairatumll Hi

TO CLIENTS, CONTRACTORS & DEVELOPERS - READ THIS BEFORE YOU START BUILDING For example. When you have a construction project, costs are not only for the actual building. Yes, it's not just materials and labour. We have: 1. Power - Generator fuel from Day 1 to Handover. 2. Water - For mixing, curing, cleaning - Every day. 3. Insurance - Site insurance, workmen, equipment. 4. Permits - Building permit, approvals, NEMA. 5. Licence - Contractor licence, company compliance. 6. Taxes - Withholding tax, VAT, county levies. 7. Preliminaries - Site office, hoarding, setting out, security. 8. Logistics - Transport, storage, handling, wastage. 9. Quality Control - Tests, curing, waterproofing tests, inspections. 10. Profit - Your margin. If you don't cost it on paper, you will never see it on site. Name them - All these attract costs. Now ask yourself: Are you able to split and know your profit margin? CLIENTS: If your contractor only quotes you blocks and cement, prepare for variations. 30% will come later as "extra." CONTRACTORS: If you quote only materials and labour, you are working for free. You are paying power, water and taxes from your own pocket. DEVELOPERS: If you don't have a full cost projection before you break ground, you don't have a business plan. You have a gamble. That's why you need Sandler for your cost projections. We cost every activity from Site Clearance to Handover. Power, water, insurance, permits, licence, taxes, preliminaries, and profit - All locked in Excel before you even touch the site. Know your profit before you even touch it. Stop guessing. Start costing. Sandler Engineering Solutions Ltd Your Costing & Project Management Partner Remote Area Contractor | Africa Operations: Somalia | Sudan | South Sudan | Congo

Contracts & Costing - Why Most African Contractors Lose Money (And Tenders) Most contractors in Kenya & Somalia don't lose because price is high. They lose because COSTING is wrong. You win tender, then you lose money building it. That's charity, not business. Contract vs Costing Contract = The RULES Costing = The MATH Contract tells you WHAT happens if you delay, if cement goes $6.5 to $8.5, if client doesn't pay. Costing tells you if you can SURVIVE it. Never price a BOQ before reading contract. The 3 Hidden Costs That Kill You Everyone adds Cement, Sand, Labour. But forget: 1. Preliminaries = Site office, insurance, NCA, water (10%) 2. Risk & Inflation = Dollar up, cement up (5%) 3. Profit is NOT what remains. Profit is a COST. Add 15% min. My Formula - Sandler Method Project: 25.70m x 10.46m - 5 Shops + 4BR Material $92k + Labour $20k = $112k Base - $11.2k Prelims + $5.6k Risk + $18k Profit = $146.8k REAL PRICE If you quote $112k, you LOST $34.8k day one. Fixed Price = Danger 99% of GOK & NGO tenders are Fixed Price. Cement was 650, now 850. Who pays? YOU. Solution: - Add clause: "Rates valid 90 days" - Buy 60% materials upfront after advance payment. Why Cheapest NEVER Wins World Bank Lowest price does NOT win World Bank / UN / AfDB tenders. MOST RESPONSIVE wins. If you price too low, evaluator thinks you don't understand scope. You get DISQUALIFIED. Price realistically. Show breakdown. Final Advice Stop being a fundi who prices. Be a contractor who COSTS. We at Sandler Tender Services manage tenders FROM $300. World Bank size to county size. 🌐 Sandler.co.ke 📱 +254723381628 | +252905294918 #Construction #Tenders #WorldBank
