This. Also a reminder that early NBA games were double-headers w/ college games to draw fans, playoffs were tape-delayed until '86 and in the early '80s the average attendance for NBA games was usually less than 10,000 spectators. NBA has a 48-year head start. Support & help the W grow!

@SarahSpain This particular post felt factual? Maybe putting the facts out there will help encourage people to support the league, which benefits everyone.
@SarahSpain So would you recommend @MLS and @NWSL team up for doubleheaders for same-market clubs at the MLS host stadium, to get more exposure?
@SarahSpain So I hopped on the WNBA site. Where is their shop for merchandise?
@SarahSpain @jemelehill Spread awareness about the game. Do some marketing for it. Stop complaining about the problem and start working to address it. She makes almost double the national average salary to play a game. Thinking this isn't enough is pure greed on your part.
@SarahSpain We’ve been conditioned in this society that the wealthy are deserving of more subsidization than the relatively poor. Keep throwing money at a cash cow like the NBA but we can’t invest in the WNBA + PR7s/MLR + MLS/NWSL + CBB-W when it’s obvious there’s quality competition there?
@SarahSpain @jemelehill Naw use anything else but that excuse lol. We’re in the diamond age of media —— the individual players can brand themselves.
@SarahSpain Magic's rookie contract in 1979-80 was $450,000 which is $1,170,867 in today's $. Kareem's rookie deal for $250,000 in 1969, or $1,286,784 in 2024. Wilt's rookie salary was $30,000, or $194,742 today. Puts Clarke's rookie deal about 65 years behind.
