But we are human first, before the uniform. Treat your health workers with a little grace—we bleed, we cry, and we get tired too. 🩺💙 John Mary

Beyond "Abasawo Bagumu": The Quiet Tears of a Nurse Behind every scrubs uniform, every quick step in the corridor, and every calm answer during a crisis, there is a human being. Lately, it feels like people forget that nurses are not machines. We don't run on batteries. 1/5

We have learned to wipe our tears in private, collect ourselves in a split second, and walk straight into the next room to save another life. But inside, we carry the grief of every life we couldn't save. We love what we do. We chose this life (yade etwegezamu).

When you see us performing last office with steady hands and calm faces, please don't look at us and say, "Abasawo bagumu" (nurses are tough/heartless). We are not emotionless.

The hardest part, though, isn't just the physical tiredness—it’s the emotional one. We bond with our patients. We get attached. And when we lose a patient we’ve spent days or weeks fighting for, a piece of us breaks too.

We get physically exhausted. We need a moment to sit down, to catch our breath, and yes—to eat a small meal so we don't faint while trying to keep someone else alive. When you as a family member sees us sitting for ten minutes or grabbing a bite, please don't think we don't care.

🚨🔴⚪️ Diego Simeone: “We don’t believe Julián Alvarez is in the right condition to play or take part for tomorrow’s game”. “Hopefully, over these next four days, he’ll make further progress and we’ll be closer to where we want him to be”.

@BishopStuartUni @nche_uganda Weird marketing strategy. Can't you be BSU without adding Cambridge? Who comes up with such ideas? So annoying.

@HSC_UG Two positions were advertised for nursing officer (nursing), why is it that only 7 candidates were shortlisted?

@M_Kananura @kenimans @mbarara The Mbra_Ibanda_Kamwenge is hell. The taxi guys know the price of the officers(2k_5k). Oh God. Travelling by public means along that route is like a prison sentence.
