This Foreign Policy article goes pretty deep into the depressingly corrupt Russian space industry. Morale is very low. Pay is very low. Suspicions are sky high. So the best and brightest space scientists are fleeing. foreignpolicy.com/2021/10/14/sci…
"What matters is the atmosphere of paranoia that allows stealing to continue while everyone dutifully keeps their mouths shut ... One of the most insidious ways corruption affects Russian space programs is how unqualified yet well-connected people are given projects to run."
@SciGuySpace When I was on the ISS negotiating team in the 90's, the Russian engineers were selling their household goods on the street to survive. They've had a rough time for a long time.
@SciGuySpace Where is @Rogozin ? Normally he'd be here by now to accuse you of being a propaganda spreading agent of the US government....
@SciGuySpace Probably not isolated to how they run their space program 😞
@SciGuySpace Hardly surprising and totally not unique to the space industry.
@SciGuySpace It's the same in every populism. The corrup everthing. I know I live in Argentina.
