The strike is over. The BCMEA and the ILWU have accepted the Terms of Settlement from federal mediators. The parties have reached a tentative agreement. Statement from Minister Alghabra & me:
@SeamusORegan @marmiesmall @OmarAlghabra Good work team!
@SeamusORegan @OmarAlghabra You forgot not to count your chickens before they hatch!
@SeamusORegan @penottawa @OmarAlghabra This was great work. Time was given to see if an agreement was possible, but the strong hand of Govt was a shadow to push to a deal before strike had a dramatic impact on the economy. Very competent handling of a nightmare file. #cdnpoli #bcpoli
@SeamusORegan @OmarAlghabra Great job, my friend!
@SeamusORegan @richardzussman @OmarAlghabra Did you freeze any of their bank accounts? How much did this strike cost our economy?
@SeamusORegan @OmarAlghabra Premier Danielle Smith: “The port authority estimates that $785 million in cargo has been disrupted each day this strike has carried on. Alberta has been advocating since day one for the federal government to step up and ensure a timely resolution to this strike.”
@SeamusORegan @OmarAlghabra Well done to everyone!
@SeamusORegan @jazzyxo2teach @OmarAlghabra Good Job!
