Congress needs to do more on rail safety. Yet a comprehensive, bipartisan safety reform bill that holds the railroad industry accountable doesn't have enough Republicans on board to move forward. It's long past time to get this done.
@SecretaryPete Please post the link to the actual bill you are talking about. I find that most of the time the bills contain a whole lot of “extra stuff” which is what causes it to not float.
@SecretaryPete Why, does your boss need a train ride across the Frances Scott Key bridge again? 🤪
@SecretaryPete Yeah, no doubt there's something in the bill that has absolutely nothing to do with railroads, and is the reason Republicans are not supporting your bill.
@SecretaryPete Excellent. No reason congress should not back this assuming cost effective.
@SecretaryPete @USDOT What about holding Train Crews accountable as well?
You mean like the train derailment disaster in East Palestine, Ohio? The one where people are still suffering today? The soil and water are contaminated, drinking water is contaminated. Family's lives have been ruined. Most likely there will be severe health conditions for the residents there. Has there been any accountability for this yet?
@SecretaryPete But unfortunately, you gotta send money to this war criminal Netanyahu.
