We announced that Seen Health has crossed 300 members, making us one of the fastest-growing PACE programs in the country. We also committed an additional $50M across the San Gabriel Valley and Greater Los Angeles to bring culturally competent aging support to more families. Our core value “Care, like family” was the theme throughout: an 80-year-old member took the stage with his granddaughter Eno, our recreation therapy assistant, to perform an original song about his time at Seen Health. Our center was decorated with over 300 pieces of original artworks and heartfelt letters, all made by our members. The celebration featured traditional Chinese dance, acrobatic performances, Sichuan face-changing opera, and a well-known magician who left our team spellbound. Guests enjoyed specialty foods from our partners and custom Seen Health mooncakes.

Many immigrant families — especially those with elderly loved ones — often ask us: "If we use public benefits, will it affect our green card application?" Actually, most of what people have heard about the "Public Charge" policy is based on outdated information. Starting in 2019, there was indeed a period when the standards became much stricter. Even programs like Medi-Cal (Medicaid in California), CalFresh (food stamps), housing assistance, and even school lunch programs for children were considered negative factors under the rule. During that time, many people who were eligible for benefits didn’t use them — out of fear that it might affect their immigration status. But that policy was officially repealed in 2021, and the rules returned to the more flexible, pre-2019 standard. So what actually affects your green card application now?
