The American people want and expect a secure border. The Republican position has been that securing America's border is the top priority and must be accomplished before we provide funding to secure Ukraine's. Unfortunately, the Senate's secret negotiations resulted in a bill that does not secure the border and does more harm than good. As a result, Republican leadership recommended against voting for cloture on the very bill they negotiated. Now, Schumer is asking for cloture on a bill that does nothing to secure America's border, is not offset and paid for—thereby further mortgaging our children's future. I will vote no on the motion to proceed to that bill.
@SenRonJohnson The strongest border bill in a generation that would dramatically improve the situation and supported by the Border Patrol Union but I vote no. Confused?

@SenRonJohnson @Furiousred80601 The American people deserve a secure border. They are paying for it, not the government Senator.
@SenRonJohnson This is the right answer. This bill is garbage
@SenRonJohnson Should this foreign aid be a loan and if so do we believe it would be paid back?
@SenRonJohnson Thank you, @SenRonJohnson! Completely close the southern border FIRST—not one illegal alien crossing.
