@jonmoffitt Thanks Jon, I think through this now every time I preach….

Has the Bible ever felt like a nonstop to-do list? What if you’ve been trained to focus on the wrong emphasis?

Idenitfying a Pietistic Sermon: You leave feeling deeply convicted but strangely unclear on what Christ actually accomplished. You were reminded to “do better” far more than you were reminded that Jesus did it perfectly. Grace made a brief appearance, mainly as motivation to try harder next week. Assurance felt irresponsible, but exhaustion felt holy. Jesus was inspiring, demanding, and mostly helpful as an example. The application assumed your biggest problem is a weak quiet time. Suffering was treated like a discipline problem, not life in a cursed world. You were given many imperatives, few promises, and no place to rest. You walked out motivated, sincere, and quietly wondering if you are ever doing enough.

This was said at @ERLC Evangelicals for Life conference in conjunction with the March for Life. ERLC promoted this as a pro-life issue. Yang was VP at World Relief then and now is with the UN Refugee Agency. ERLC still has a page promoting Yang's views: erlc.com/profile/jenny-…

Don Lemon may identify as a journalist but he was obviously part of the attack on Cities Church. He should be justly prosecuted to the full extent of the law. cnn.com/2026/01/30/pol…

Thankful for this.

After yesterday’s disruption of worship services at our city missionary’s church in St. Paul (@citieschurch), we are continuing to pray for the church and are helping to meet some tangible needs they have right now. Here is an updated statement from NAMB president, Kevin Ezell

U.S. Attorney General Pam Bondi says she has spoken to a Minnesota pastor following a disruption by protestors during Cities Church’s morning worship service Jan. 18. baptistpress.com/resource-libra…

This is unacceptable. Praying for @jonathanparnell and @davidcmathis, that God would use this moment to spark an awakening in Minneapolis and turn what was meant for harm into good.

🚨BREAKING: William Kelly and a mob of anti-ICE extremists stormed a Cities Church in Minneapolis, disrupting a worship service and hurling baseless accusations that one of the church’s lead pastors is an ICE agent.

First, I realize the vast majority of the people showing up at protests are being paid to be there. Soros and many others who want chaos in the streets are behind all of it, and these people are paid shills without serious convictions--other than the love of money. But I have found it fascinating how the "Overton Window" has shifted so quickly in this nation. You see, when the shooting took place in Minneapolis immediately a nice photo of the woman, Renee Good, appeared. She was described as a wife and a mother, a poet, etc. Look what these terrible people have done! It took a few days before it became clear that when we used the term "wife and mother" in, say, 1980, it meant something completely different than it does today. She was a lesbian, divorced multiple times, and now "married" to a woman. Now, it is not surprising that the media glossed over these realities, of course, but so did everyone else. In fact, no one seems to care in the slightest that this woman was in open rebellion against God's law and God's ways. Forty years ago this would have been the first thing noted. Now, it is considered irrelevant, and, in fact, in the thinking of many, to even raise the topic is "bigoted" and "hateful." And, I think a large portion of self-professing Christians would take that view. This nation has been invaded, and the invasion took place with the purposeful, knowing, intentional help of traitors on the inside. Now that the invading army is here, they are doing all they possibly can to protect them and bring an end to this nation and its Constitution. And, from my vantage point, they are going to succeed, probably a lot faster than we expect. The people engaging in these activities are lawless and rebellious, so it should not be at all surprising that Renee Good was, herself, lawless and rebellious in her own life. But we are no longer allowed to make that connection, since one's personal life is not relevant, or so we have been told. Yet isn't it obvious that if you rebel against the most basic institutions God has given us you will encourage others to do the same? Yesterday, lawless thugs and communist nutballs invaded a church in St. Paul, disrupting the service. And what were they chanting? A lesbian profaner of the institution of marriage's name. If you can't see the connection, you are just not looking.

Narrator: He did not, in fact, outlast Trump.

Communism and Christianity stand at fundamentally irreconcilable odds because they rest on rival accounts of the human person, freedom, and authority. Where Christ sets man free—liberating the conscience from sin and ordering freedom toward truth and love—communism operates by coercion, subordinating the individual to the collective and enforcing conformity through compulsion. Christianity understands freedom as moral and spiritual: the capacity to live in accordance with reality as God has made it. Communism, by contrast, treats freedom as a problem to be managed, something to be engineered away in the pursuit of an abstract vision of equality. At the heart of the conflict is authority. Christianity locates ultimate authority in God, limits the claims of the state, and affirms the dignity of the person as prior to political power. Communism collapses those distinctions. It absolutizes the state, denies transcendent moral limits, and reduces persons to economic units whose worth is measured by their utility to the system. Where Christianity calls for voluntary charity, communism mandates redistribution. Where Christianity relies on conversion of the heart, communism relies on force. Where Christianity produces ordered liberty, communism produces fear, surveillance, and dependency. This is not merely a historical observation but a philosophical one. Christianity can survive persecution because it appeals to conscience; communism cannot survive dissent because it demands total unbending allegiance. One is built on grace and truth; the other on power and control. The two are not competing paths to the same end. They are rival moral universes and they point in opposite directions.

Reformed culture needs to change. It needs to reflect that which it proclaims. Grace.

Simply astounding. We used to call this invasion. Or treason. Or all of the above.
