Do any major newspapers/subscription outlets allow you to pay for access to individual articles? Or do they all force you to subscribe? All for paywalls, but frustrating that I’m asked to buy a recurring subscription to a small paper across the country to read good reporting.
@ShehanJeyarajah Just curious.....what would you be willing to pay for an article you wanted to read?
@ShehanJeyarajah I think almost everybody has concluded that the math doesn't actually come out in favor of the publisher. I look into it about once a year and I dont think there's a way to do it without losing four figures a year
@ShehanJeyarajah Begging someone to make a 1.25 per article fast pass feature. The math has to work. I refuse to believe it doesnt
@ShehanJeyarajah Yeah I sign up and then cancel. Sucks they can’t figure out micro transactions.
@ShehanJeyarajah I am not sure why they force you to subscribe and then cancel as opposed to just charging you $1 to read *one* article. I have never heard a satisfactory answer as to why the latter is a bad business model.
