What is a trailer but an advertisement to get you to hyped to see something. The same goes for casting choices. Meryl Streep playing Aslan is a FUNDAMENTAL undermining of the story. Aslan is a MALE Lion, an allegorical stand in for THE LORD JESUS CHRIST! Hence later when he tells Lucy that she must go home and learn to know him by his name there which she already knows, it is a reminder to the reader of who Jesus is in reality. It is only fair and right to call stuff out when the director changes the meaning of a work to suit there own ends.
