WHOA I just realized there's a nude woman among all the tattoo designs?? I've seen this episode a hundred times and not noticed that! And not just that, she's a pink, "realistic" human, WEIRD. How'd they get that past Fox?

Unnamed tattoo parlor guy. I was gonna mention how this guy has that same early design sense that Marvin Monroe has (sketchy beard), and--of course, he's apparently been revealed to be Monroe's brother in season 345 or something.

This is a fun bit of acting for Marge with the phone, love the way she's idly playing with the chord. Sidenote-- Marge says her sisters are coming "to visit," it sounds like the implication was that Patty and Selma didn't live in town?

It's honestly amazing to me how they more or less ironed this out for an "official" blueprint fairly early on, though the series as a whole will continue to create closets and entryways to the basement that shouldn't exist.

It basically took them the entire season to figure out how these rooms are supposed to connect to each other, but there are many episodes this season that mix up the sitting room (pictured) with the living room (aka the one with the TV).

Minor detail of something that's going to become very apparent in the first season-- the layout of the Simpsons household changes a *LOT*. This is a really minor example, with the couch facing towards the exterior window rather than the fireplace.

Rando girls. I'd say the one on the left looks like if Sherri or Terri had Nelson's kids, but SIMPSONS DID IT in one of those flash-forward episodes.

These two girls are my favorite of this bunch. Also weird that Sherri and Terri are both dark yellow with brown hair, they quickly changed that and they're two of the rare pale characters in the show, ultimately.

Our first look at Bart's class, with a lot of extras who will stick around for some time! Also our first look at Milhouse, Sherri and Terri. One thing I noticed is a lot of dot-eyed characters in the first season that are reminiscent of Matt Groening's Akbar and Jeff.

This girl who appears before him *may* have evolved into Janey, their hair is roughly the same shape, and she's also voice by Pamela Hayden. She's caucasian here, but skin tones are gonna vary *wildly* throughout the first season.

Ralph might be the earliest example of a random extra turning into a full fledged character? This proto-Ralph was dressed as a "Japanese priest who acts like Santa." Long before his character OR his voice was settled. It sounds like it might be Nancy Cartwright, but it's WAY off.
