Python Siphon @SiphonofPython

Security called me at 6:12 AM today. "Patch every PHP server immediately." I asked what happened. "Two critical vulnerabilities. Remote code execution. No authentication required." Cool. How many PHP servers do we have? According to inventory: 12 According to reality: Nobody knows. We found one running WordPress. Three running old internal tools. One under someone's desk. Two inside vendor appliances. A forgotten employee directory from 2016. And a server named: PHP-OLD-DO-NOT-TOUCH Naturally, that one runs payroll exports. Then we found a PHP 5.6 box. I asked who owned it. The documentation said: BRIAN. Brian left in 2019. We called Brian. He said: "Oh wow, that's still running?" Excellent. By 8 AM, leadership joined the incident call. CEO: "Can hackers actually get in?" Security: "Potentially yes." CEO: "Without a password?" Security: "Yes." CEO: "Then why do WE need passwords?" Not the lesson. Finance asked if we could wait until the weekend to patch because downtime affects revenue. Security explained that the alternative was letting strangers execute code on our servers. Finance asked for a cost comparison. At 9:17, someone suggested temporarily taking the vulnerable websites offline. Marketing refused. "Our campaign is live." So for the next hour, the company officially decided maintaining a landing page for 20% off webinar registration was more important than preventing remote server takeover. We finally patched everything we could find. Then our scanner discovered another PHP server. Hostname: TEMP-PHP-2014 Uptime: 4,512 days. Nobody knows what it does. Nobody owns it. Nobody can shut it down. But every time we block network access, the warehouse stops printing shipping labels. Security has classified it as critical infrastructure. It is running PHP 5.4. The vulnerability has existed longer than half our employees. The emergency patch took four hours. Finding out what PHP actually runs took eleven. The internet isn't held together with code. It's held together with servers everyone is afraid to turn off.

The Linux filesystem looks confusing until you understand what each directory is actually for.

INCREDIBLE Queues at the RTX Spark official launch in SF to try out the demos built with a software called ODS using a local model (Qwen 3.8 Next Flash)

29 26 269 43K 38

2nd website psyphon-python.github.io/Joystar-Galler… #vibecode #html ill be honest i got bored at the end in github pages publishing and had copilot help me, the website files were modified from my own localai on nvidia nemo

I made my first website this week psyphon-python.github.io/Artist-Statist… with the help of Google Bard #googlegemini which i get on with quite well and have not hit limits really yet in the same way as Chatgpt/Grok but have certaining been on a goosechase or 2 but this is down to lazy prompting.

This is the remote user account under xrdp

3rd time lucky 😂 more method to the madnesses System76 driver installed almost first, Flatpak app store disabled pretty much 😂 need to share the ODS install with another user on the same machine i think #ods #poplinux #system76 #osmantic

Now running Pop! Os Linux dual boot on my more powerful machine with Osmantic ODS for Local Ai Purposes and Development. Its about time i learnt Linux Properly after 20 years of toying. #linux #linuxnoobs

Not sure im going to stay with this linux flavour, Sound issues over HDMI DTS seemingly unfixable even though i know the cause as i can solve it in windows. Gonna flash another install and with usr accs setup different to save space on a 250gb drive. Im fucking persistent though.

Turns out the future does have flying cars

@Eyerex Yeah your Picore os\Lyrion\Jellyfin on a 64gb usb stick on pi400 with an external drive, It sounds good ill look into installing it very soon as i quite like the material controller. id like to maybe dual boot with octoprint so i dont have to keep swapping sticks too.

Great performance in ODS with a 3060ti #ods #osmantic #poplinux

#ods #osmantic #linux #poplinux #visualstudio #github

State of play is Pop! os 24.04 Osmantic ODS Main account, Remote account same username needs to use XCFE and kinda reinstall\reuse the existing containers in docker to be able to use ODS, the remote account using xcfe stages the docker containers in paralell taking up space.

I have installed another remote account as well to be able to connect to GPU PC and inference while another user is logged again installing\reinstalling ODS but the main purpose of this remote account is learning without distraction and not using Public Online AI.

This needs config as a new setup and the ODS installer has to be ran under each profile? its confused me but i know it is a permissions thing which i will learn better whe i start learning Debian Linux properly 😂

3D Printing is Back for a new season with a new buildplate installed now testing fully operational, Octoprint all written in Python on Linux it seems🐧 #linux #3dprinting #octoprint #python #theplotthickens

This ran so fast in ODS file joining next 🤣 #ods #pop #poplinux

Install list: Updates and Nvidia, Brave in Cosmic, xRDP and XCFE + SSH permissions, Docker + Compose, Nvidia containers for Docker, ODS and erm

Fully updated now, more work than using windows 😂 but with a second account to use the machine via RDP on the lan while another user watches say Youtube, i need to fix the video colour on youtube for this to be a cosmic daily driver with a windows option #popos #linux #osmantic
