Chuckling at the notion of wanting a new show to recreate your favourite childhood cartoon even though that old cartoon was a bit shit actually 😄
@SixoTF I didn't wanna jump to assumptions, but I just knew an article with a headline like that was gonna boil down to "nostalgic adults who haven't thought about Transformers since the 90s will like this because it's 'serious G1' "
@SixoTF G1 has always been seen as basic to me, I'm not sure why they even bothered making this.
@SixoTF I'm just kind of mortified they thought this is what fans want. Like was the only qualification they could think up, "Copious levels of Edge"?
@SixoTF I don't remember if Perspective End or Paper plane said it, but it's such a fitting description for this: WFC is a show only men who are too afraid to admit they like cartoons could enjoy, or something like that
@SixoTF The thing that debunks this article, slightly, is the cybertron games. If it said “shows” is concede, but wfc and foc took itself “seriously” (whatever that means nowadays) with g1 characters and a good balance of stakes and levity. Netflix show had good moments but overall, meh
@SixoTF "(a show whose CGI-" youtube.com/watch?v=NYMLlw… Why can't I find a gif of him saying this?
@SixoTF Settling for Beast Wars? Settling?! We should be so lucky to have a single show as good as Beast Wars.
@SixoTF Woe is Transformers fans, having to settle for Beast Wars.
@SixoTF I don't know what to make of this. While I liked the toys, I found nothing redeeming about the shows. At least not enough for me to ever want to watch it again or recommend it to anyone. The only show I had to watch at 1.5x speed.
