"You could get hit in the body and there'd be a whiplash movement which rattles the brain." Former Wales rugby union player @AlixPopham says he disagrees with Boris Johnson that the sport is safe for children to play. #SJUK trib.al/LM8JwRl 📺 Sky 501 / YouTube
@SkyNews @AlixPopham Ironically this is the biggest elephant in the room re current head contact debate. Concussion is the deacceleration of brain and can happen in almost any physical sport at any time. In rugby terms the accumulated micro concussions just as likely to happen making a txtbook low..
@SkyNews @AlixPopham .. Low tackle, simply going to ground hard or even the dive to score a try. Its absolutely not all abt head contact, much of it is simply run of the mill sport Already we r seeing players with micro chip gum shield being taken off for hia after no apparent head contact..
@SkyNews @AlixPopham .. We will see more of that in the remainig 6n matches So I'm not sure this is helpful for those seeking legal redress based mainly on accumulated head contact concussion. Much more simple seemingly safe situations cd be just as much to 'blame'
