I don't remember seeing a requirement to have effective governance in the RoATP application. If you don't ask, you are unlikely to get. Private companies tend to have management before governance.

“Not had much of a chance to look yet - but is there much buried in your report on governance” asks Emma Knights from @NGAMedia. What @amanda_spielman could have highlighted was @Ofstednews concern about poor or lack of governence in some of the newer private providers.

If we can agree its on all in the planning then clearly becoming a provider in the first place is flawed. Do new providers need a support visit first from @Ofstednews , before they are 'mauled'...

If we want to continue with uncertainty in the sector then let's carry on. What about the £££££00000s spent on developing programmes with some only getting a return after 2 to 3 years of delivery, will they be reimbursed or grab what they can and crash out. It is a crazy FE world
