I’m a little baffled by this only because you told me I was basically using a generic term for growth, but how does this character coming to terms with themself affect the other other characters in the story? Do they reveal the secrets to them and then learn from that experience?

Exactly, growth and redemption aren’t the same thing and I think this is a concept that truly boggles so many as to why sometimes in order to see real and true growth they first need redemption.

This right here is you stating she had personal growth which isn’t the same as character growth. As a character she had none. When it came to her letting Frost be apart of her life and needing her that was her own personal growth, which then became a selfish need.
