NFP non event. As I wrote yesterday the survey date for this was Feb 9-15th, before a lot of the layoff stuff started. I will say this U6 UR print was pretty spicy though 👀

Lots of very interesting Econ data out this morning. Let’s take a look: Ice cold PMI today… and interestingly a continued trend of an upswing in the manufacturing sector but a huge miss lower on services. As a reminder US economy is largely serviced based so it’s what matters most. In fact, this is the first services contraction in 2 years. Quite notable.

First manufacturing pmi over 50 (expansion) in 2 years. We are seeing continued validation of this idea I have that we are in the early innings of a business cycle and certainly not late cycle. We’ve been in a weird world where gdp has floated last couple years through robust government stimulus + resilient services sector while manufacturing sector was basically in a recession. We’re now seeing the upswing begin.
