Today is INTERNATIONAL LITERACY DAY. Literacy is a driver for sustainable development in that it enables greater participation in the labour market; improved child and family health and nutrition; reduces poverty and expands life opportunities.

@SIplymouth were at the annual Lambfeast Plympton with our big business raffle and tombola stall. Paul the delighted winner of first prize £100 Brittany Ferries voucher Sunshine all day with many many visitors to our stands.

Today, several members enjoyed a lovely tour, full of anedotes, and afternoon tea with the Lord Mayor, Cllr Sam Davey, at Elliot Terrace on Plymouth Hoe, The house, brimming over with history, was owned by Lord and Lady Astor and gifted by them to the City of Plymouth.
Save the Children Fund charity are 100 years old in May - so we held a coffee and cake morning to raise £100 - then collected over £200!! We are very happy to be able to mark this great landmark date of a charity that does so much for the young - and we enjoyed the coffee!
We were delighted to host the inspirational @SITaunton #SkirtingScience event today. 🧫🌌🧪 Over 230 Year 9 girls from local secondary schools had the opportunity to take part in some brilliant #STEM workshops. No doubt they have been inspired to pursue a career in science! 👩💻👩🔬
