On Monday 14 September 2026, members of the Provincial Organised Crime Unit together with Tzaneen Detectives operationalised information about a Nigerian male suspect aged 37 who was allegedly supplying drugs around the Mankweng and Tzaneen precincts. The information further indicated that the drug dealer normally meets with his customers at Voortrekker Street in Polokwane and drives a white Tata Indica motor vehicle. The teams immediately operationalised the information and positively spotted the motor vehicle at Voortrekker Street. When police attempted to stop it, the suspect fled the scene and a car chase ensued until he was apprehended inside the yard of a house at 37 Plein Street in Polokwane. Police searched the suspect and his motor vehicle and discovered 345.4 grams of Crystal Meth and 211.5 grams of heroin with an estimated street value of R50,000. A 37-year-old male suspect was immediately placed under arrest for dealing and possession of drugs.
