My small portable IV machine broke(!) so they brought me this! Ughhh It's only until tomorrow afternoon thankfully, when I'll get my little machine back. Dragging this thing around is not fun and quite embarrassing lol I hope you all were able to enjoy the holidays :)

Merry Christmas to everyone!! I *did* make it home for the holidays (barely) and it has been absolutely wonderful. There's just the 4 of us this year but I couldn't be more grateful. It's a bit of an adjustment from hospital living for sure lol #MerryChristmas #blessed

Got some exciting news today... Assuming that my body continues to cooperate (knocks wood), I *should* be home next week!! Still must be on IV antibiotics until January buuuut, all signs are pointing to HOME! #overwhelming #Healing #ReliefCantWait #Excited

This antibiotic has been super effective. Took a verrrry long time, through some trial and error, to find the one that works best. Still no fever!! Hooray! I'm finally showing some improvement. Hope all of my friends here are well and getting thru this difficult time!

My no-good, terrible rash is jussst about gone! My upper body is mostly clear. My legs developed the rash last so will heal last as well. As you can see, my ankles were affected the worst :( Still on IV benadryl! #soon #Healing

So this thick, sticky, brown stuff is IV iron. I'm getting four bags of it. One bag every other day. I may actually have some energy now! #anemic #sotired #IronMaiden

My nurses are also wearing "splash guard" goggles as well. They DO NOT pay nurses enough! They've become my 2nd family sharing their kids/dogs/cats pics. They are literal Angels. I've been sooo fortunate and tell them that all the time! #NurseTwitter #Thankful #blessed

Then PICC #2 (below) became completely occluded. We tried *everything* and *all* the meds! Nothing worked. So pulled the 2nd one out too Ughhh! I cried a lot that day &felt like a failure :( My body just refuses to cooperate. Currently on PICC #3! #FingersCrossed #pityparty

This is my new room! Finally flown back to my original hospital at home. It was very hard to be so far (for so long!) from my family. Due to Covid, no visitors were allowed. Here though, I'm allowed exactly one visitor lol Tested a 2nd time for Covid as well. Negative! Hooray!!

My sincere apology for leaving y'all for so long! I'm sorry :( My 1st PICC became infected and I went septic. A severe blood infection Ugh so I was very ill for about 10 days until we finally got it under control. Ended up pulling the PICC out & inserting a 2nd one.

Seems I've morphed into one of "those" people who take pics during very stressful times lol The plane was much smaller inside than it looked - & I have a touch of claustrophobia! Ughh Grateful for the care so can't complain. (that's my foot in my shoe; I laid down for the flight)

Was flown to a larger hospital where there are more specialists available. Unfortunately, this bigger hospital just became a Covid hotspot :( But I need more specialized treatment to get better. It's worth the risk. I'll be sure to take every precaution!
