A heart breaking new #Frankenstein poem by @UHLiterature student Souhardya Roy is published over on the OGOM blog. To read it is to feel the monster's pain and Mary Shelley's compassion, and weep. opengravesopenminds.com/creative-writi…
“Sentio, ergo sum.”
Consciousness isn’t defined by logic but by the ability to feel pain, and the capacity to endure it. Frankenstein’s creature perhaps gained consciousness when he wept. Thought itself is too intricate for a consciousness born without structure.
