My son is now 20 & the activities & help available have gotten to be fewer. They say he has outgrown the programs, but like him many teens w/ autism grow into adults w/ autism, then seniors w/ autism. What then, what assistance is available for them? They don't outgrow autism.
@SpiritFingers72 Keep advocating for him, Pennsylvania is a great state full of supports if you can’t get help for him in Florida Gloria. I have two friends who have adult children working, one with aids and one without.
@SpiritFingers72 💯 I have a niece and grandson with Autism they are getting older, and it gets difficult to find resources.
@SpiritFingers72 My son is 12, we had to change schools (because one couldn’t “give him the help he required) and we’re having the “new school, new place” issues. And this one doesn’t seem to be following his IEP either… it gets so frustrating at times..
@SpiritFingers72 Im with you My son is 22. “They” talk so much about what’s available but when you try to access it. It’s nope. Just like any other parent all we can do is our best. I know this doesn’t help much but your son has you and that counts for something. God bless you
