@elonmusk @slashdot Billionaires and governments are the only ones afraid of shrinking supplies of cheap labor and tax revenue. The world needs less people to sustain nature.

@BlitzBokke @WorldRugby Living in LA, I can speculate that team travel and fans in stands are very unlikely by Feb/Mar in CA.

A huge kick in the teeth to aspiring nations. Got their wish of including Japan even though we were assured qualification wasn’t complete, but to relegate no one smacks of a closed shop. Not even an invitational place available to hint at the development they’re “committed to”.

Really decent crowd at 1030am for the first top 14 @supersevens in Paris. Looks like supporters really bought into it and some great players out there too

@TheStroBro Thoughts on an aggressive expansion of touch rugby? Similar to the non-contact football options that are taking over, but still "rugby" to draw in participants and fans.

This may be applicable to explain some of the decrease in rugby participation. Rugby is tackling the problem head-on by introduction of laws that prevent tackling the head, but..... forbes.com/sites/rogerpie…

In the new @WorldRugby7s format, the draw has too much influence on the outcome... A lack of a 1/4 final limits any teams in a “pool of death” from beating the 1 seeds in another pool. Decreases teams ability to improve and statistically decreases competition. @TheRugbyCorner

@ScrumQueens @WorldRugby7s It awful for all teams. Less overall matches, and every match counts so teams can't develop players as much. Terrible for traveling fans. All for combined events, just over 3 minimum days, 4 ideal.

@j_richo1990 Many many more adults/non-students are fanatics of University sport than students. They may become a fan during school or just live in the same state, but college fans are some of the most tribal on the planet.

When @WorldRugby - with a perfect product: the @WorldRugby7s - makes decisions that affect the very nature of the game sans the role-players that makes it this successful product, one has to wonder why and ask questions. Don’t drop the ball @WorldRugby blitzbokke.com/2019/12/28/don…

@AllistairMcCaw @MikeFriday09 Absolutely agree, however my wearable helps me track and ID sleep issues, reminds me to drink water, and tracks fitness activities on my own, away from coaches. Wearables should and could help with valuing those undervalued objectives and assist with developing consistency.

Just amazed by the aggression, function, and fitness of the @USARugby women's 7s team! Congratulations on winning the first stop of @WorldRugby7s, and in a resilient and confident route through @RugbyCanada, @AllBlacks7s, and @Aussie7s!

Hey @flosports please start over with your tech. From scratch. Don't use a single line of code from your previous experiment. On top of terrible stream quality, why are you trying to charge me for a new subscription when I am trying to activate a Fire TV app?

@ronan_nelson It is earmarked to be the 7s venue at the 2028 LA Olympic Games. It is also 'LA' which matches the iconic cities tour that HSBC desire, and a great venue for 7s as a fan inside the stadium. But completely agree regarding the awful precinct area with basically no hotels or bars.

@goffrugbyreport @USARugby @USA7sLVI The event will be in LA for at least 4 years for the Olympic cycle, and if successful then should stay through the 2028 Olympics in LA. This is the same venue earmarked for 7s in 2028.

@lizardrugby @EnglandRugby @TeamGB @Tokyo2020 @RugbyRussia @FranceRugby When USA and Canada both qualified as top 4, then WR removed womens direct qualifier and added it to the repecharge. But Oceania also qualified 2, but didn't lose direct spot. It helps Fiji and Europe get more teams.

Congratulations to @EnglandRugby women's 7s on qualifying @TeamGB for @Tokyo2020! @RugbyRussia and @FranceRugby move to world repecharge where both can still qualify due to North America losing their direct spot.
