@StateLibraryLA turns 100: In 1999, library and state leaders cut the ribbon on a major $8 million expansion of the State Library, which had not been updated since it opened in 1958. When the renovation was done, we had grown to 130,000 sq. ft., an increase of 50,000 sq. ft.
