20 years ago today I was on a Russian Navy ship in the Black Sea for NASA training. The visceral images of the towers falling are as real today as they were then. It was a day of crisis, but despite our differences we came together as a united nation. We will #neverforget
@StationCDRKelly @NASA @NASA_Astronauts @NASA_Johnson A soothing fantasy about coming together as a nation. 9/11 unleashed a torrent of anti-Muslim hate that spread to other groups and rampages today.
@StationCDRKelly @NASA @NASA_Astronauts @NASA_Johnson Yes, those images are emblazoned in our memories. Impossible to forget. Also impossible to erase from our minds, the death and destruction and suffering that ensued.
@StationCDRKelly @NASA @NASA_Astronauts @NASA_Johnson Dr. D’s mother here: No, we will never forget! 🇺🇸
@StationCDRKelly @NASA @NASA_Astronauts @NASA_Johnson I recall this event from a language classroom at JLEC, where I was watching it happen on TV with a cosmonaut student. We all remember where we were when the towers fell. It was bone chilling.
@StationCDRKelly @NASA @NASA_Astronauts @NASA_Johnson 👀🤔😎😁😗😳👍🏾👊🏾👏🏾 very big!
