How far have Senate Republicans fallen? In 2006, the extension of the Voting Rights Act passed 98-0.
@StevenBeschloss Or maybe this bill was slightly different?
@StevenBeschloss @HinderTrump IF people cannot see that Dump is the impetus to this, they are just in serious denial.
@StevenBeschloss @yvet406 That was back when the Republicans considered GOVERNANCE to be part of their Job.
@StevenBeschloss Wasn’t their record voting in the last presidential election?
@StevenBeschloss @ungemarg ...then they read the writing on the wall (specifically demographic projections)
@StevenBeschloss That’s only because the Supreme Court hadn’t declared racism in US dead yet
@StevenBeschloss In 2006 they were Republicans. In 2022 they are Trump Republicans. Big difference.
@StevenBeschloss Both sides have played with the voting rights of disenfranchised people for the past 50 years. If they were serious about voting rights they’d make it law and not an act that has to be renewed every 10 years or so. Imagine if gun rights were treated the same…
@StevenBeschloss Be nice when we stop having an "act" for some and instead make it the same law for all...
