Uma das coisas mais perturbadoras sobre os estupros no caso da Flotilha é que os sobreviventes estão tendo que tomar, por 28 dias, medicamentos para prevenir uma possível infecção pelo HIV em razão da violência praticada pelos soldados. As mulheres, além disso, tiveram que tomar pílulas do dia seguinte e torcer para que fossem efetivas. Isso mostra que a violência de Israel não termina quando os sequestrados são libertados.
