@juha_remes @KorwinKrul69 @Rebel44CZ Absolutely yes 😂 Our Gov is just trying to team up with Orban in regards to illegal migration, cuz most illegal immigrants come via Hungary still. A stupid project IMO, as Orban only cares about himself. I think it is a show since they seem kind of helpless

@juha_remes @KorwinKrul69 @Rebel44CZ He tried to gain political advantages out of that crisis (since he is not very much appreciated here), but that was despicable. I think the Gov does a better job now, but it is still bad IMO.

I mean Austrian Gov takes positions clearly against Russia in this war (just yesterday the FM condemned RUS aggression) but what Nehammer did was a stupid ego trip to show to the Austrian public that he is capable of handling int crisis 😵‍💫

@juha_remes @KorwinKrul69 @Rebel44CZ Yep, I‘m aware of that. Yet I currently don’t see a risk of Austria taking Poland‘s place, as Hungary follows other interests than Austria in regards to EU.

@juha_remes @KorwinKrul69 @Rebel44CZ Apart from that, it is easier for say McDonalds to pull out than a bank that has open credits amounting to billions of $$. And Raiffeisen is by far not the only company still operating in RU. Not trying to defend them tho, I think it’s just not that easy

@juha_remes @KorwinKrul69 @Rebel44CZ Well, I understand that point, but I think it is a little bit more nuanced. Raiffeisen is a private company which means the state does not make the decisions here. As a bank they underlie i.e. the European banking and (uniform) sanctions regime, which it has not violated afaik.

@mgoetzke @KyivIndependent No, it would not. EU MS would have to defend/assist defence of Hungarian soil, the FM yet talks about the Hungarian-speaking minority in UKR (who are no EU citizens and do not live on EU soil).

I was not talking about money (or gas which hopefully won’t be a topic in future when UA is ready to join), I was talking about structural problems of EU. It really is high time for controversial reforms (before more states join) unless the EU wants to come to a dead end.

They paid for WWI until 2010, they lost more than 1/3 of their territory, their cities were laid in ashes and the state was split and occupied for almost 50 years. Poland waived further compensations already in 1953 and several times again later.
