Fascinating. I try to avoid conservative pessimism, but it is impossible to deny the prophecy here. It is a reminder, however, that British conservatism is quite a liberal creed, in the truest sense of liberalism. These changes are as authoritarian as they are anti-conservative.

Chesterton's fence has for esoteric ideological reasons, been replaced by a slurry pump that continually sprays liquid shit at anyone who gets close. But the pump has the word "fence" written on it. Conservatives would still argue vehemently against removal of this "fence".
