On behalf of the people of Kenya, I am grateful to Pfizer for recognising the work we are doing in implementing universal health coverage in our country and championing health initiatives across Africa. This programme has been made possible by the immense contributions of our citizens, enabling us to mobilise the necessary resources to finance healthcare for the 32.5 million Kenyans who have so far registered with the Social Health Authority (SHA). Our Parliament has also played a critical role in enacting the legislation that has established the various funds underpinning our primary healthcare, social insurance, and emergency, chronic and critical illness care. Additionally, technology, through the Digital Health Agency, has been pivotal in the digitisation of services, creating the necessary transparency and consequently eliminating fraud. At the heart of our universal programme is the health worker. We have worked with county governments to hire more staff, resolved long-standing disputes over collective bargaining agreements and expanded community health promotion. To ensure availability of medicines and other commodities in hospitals, we have strengthened the Kenya Medical Supplies Authority (KEMSA), whose re-fill rate now stands at 91 per cent from a low of 40 per cent. We are also working with manufacturers to supply, install, maintain and upgrade equipment in hospitals, including dialysis machines, CT scans, MRI, digital X-rays and lab kits, on a fee-for-service arrangement with no upfront cost to government. We are committed to continue refining our universal healthcare programme until it is truly universal and leaves no Kenyan behind.

Cabinet Secretary for Health Hon. Aden Duale today joined the leadership and staff of the Social Health Authority (SHA) to welcome newly recruited officers, marking a key step in strengthening the Authority’s capacity to support the implementation of Universal Health Coverage (UHC). The Cabinet Secretary said the onboarding of the new officers strengthens SHA’s role as the financial backbone of Kenya’s healthcare reforms and will help accelerate the delivery of accessible and effective healthcare services across the country. Addressing staff and management, Hon. Duale emphasized that SHA plays a central role in advancing the Government’s healthcare agenda under the Bottom-Up Economic Transformation Agenda (BETA). He urged the officers to remain focused on serving Kenyans with integrity, transparency and accountability while ensuring prudent management of public resources. The CS warned that fraud, collusion with rogue healthcare facilities and misuse of funds will not be tolerated, noting that any individual found culpable will face the full force of the law. As the new officers deploy to departments and counties, he challenged them to prioritise key targets including scaling up revenue collection, ensuring full employer onboarding, strengthening claims management and improving administrative efficiency to ensure more resources directly support healthcare services. Despite operating with limited staff in recent months, SHA has collected KSh 142.8 billion, transitioned 29.8 million Kenyans and paid KSh 109 billion in claims to healthcare facilities. With the full workforce now in place, the Authority is expected to further strengthen service delivery. During the visit, Hon. Duale, accompanied by Director-General for Health Dr Patrick Amoth, also inspected the ongoing construction of the National Ambulance Dispatch Centre at the SHA headquarters, reaffirming the Government’s commitment to strengthening emergency care and referral systems. The meeting was hosted by SHA leadership led by Chief Executive Officer Dr Mercy Mwangangi and Chairperson Dr Abdi Mohamed.

Why can’t Nyandarua hold an annual “ WARU ( potatoes) Festival” where people would gather and eat cooked potatoes with other additives? The region grows a lot of potatoes and this would be an ideal annual gathering and cerebrations of the harvest. What do you think?

@citizentvkenya Actually there is free maternity services under the PHC fund which is the first level of funding under SHA. If a woman is registered with SHA and is not paying for SHIF she can access all 8 ANC contacts at level 2 and 3 and normal delivery at level 3 without paying a cent.

Ruto's failed regime explained in less than 30 minutes repost widely for Kenyans to learn for free. Mara Gaucho John Mbadi Sifuna #freemwabilimwagodi

@PropesaTV Will the person who recorded this video ever vote for William Ruto? That fear is so real 😪.

Footage recovered from the killer convoy of Ruto. They tried denying and covering that the car was not in the convoy but here is the evidence on camera! #77NiNumbers

@DCI_Kenya Then you should also arrest the woman who had a baby together with Grace Mulei for disturbance. Surely, what are you guys using to think?

A woman hands flowers to police officers in Nairobi CBD and proceeds to fall on her knees begging them to #EndAbductionsKE and stop brutalizing young Kenyans for criticizing President William Ruto's regime.

@CiataCityMallKE Are you aware of the harassment by guards when trying to leave the mall at night. They insist on being sent the parking fees to their phones. They have disable the system and use their own card to open.

@Mwangi_Githinj @NanjieGalgalo Here, everyone bought and hired a driver or took loans to buy cars abd use the Apps and want to arm twist passengers and the Apps to pay more, yet they still need the Apps to operate. How now? @uber_kenya

@Mwangi_Githinj @NanjieGalgalo I think people in Kenya missed the whole point of how Uber was to operate. It's supposed to be individuals who own cars that should sign up and carry passengers when they are not using their vehicles or when they want to make extra cash besides their daily jobs. @uber_kenya

@HillaryGondi Tenders are shared and allocated before they are advertised, they all ask whats in it for me before the tenders and procurements are done. This makes suppliers increase prices to unreasonable levels so as to pay the lineups of officials in these organisations.

@HillaryGondi Someone needs to check the leadership of all parastatals like KRA, Kengen, Immigration, KPA, KEBs, customs etc. The corruption in these places is appalling.
