Apparently it's illegal to refuse a prisoner an interview with a researcher, author, etc. according to a Supreme Court ruling. If refused, prisoners should complain and must be given any paperwork related to the rejection within 3 days. How interesting.

Serco have refused permission for a journalist to visit Stephen in prison to interview him about False Memory Syndrome, which was a key area of his defence, "for security reasons". Permission will not be granted while he remains at HMP Ashfield.

How being acquitted of a false sexual allegation by a jury is being rendered almost meaningless: ▪️Charge is on your police record for life ▪️Revealed in enhanced DBS check ▪️You must declare arrest etc when travelling to USA & some other countries ▪️News reports remain online

Much has been said & written about the rehabilitation of criminals, but I can’t ever recall a serious discussion about the rehabilitation of people who have been falsely accused. Many have lost everything: reputation, career, home, savings, pensions, friends & even families.

@bbcsimonwarr Prosecuting someone who perverts the course of justice is no different from prosecuting any other crime. We don’t refuse to prosecute burglars or fraudsters because ‘it’s vindictive’.

@lizyeld If you can’t ever know they are innocent, you can’t ever know they are guilty without absolute, clear, hard evidence. It’s amazing how people want it both ways when they have an axe to grind.

This is like a modern form of torture. Lock someone up for something they haven't done and then try to tell them they must attend courses for sexual offending when they aren't sexual offenders. If they won't submit then they're "in denial" and will be tortured until they confess.

So many falsely accused and wrongfully convicted people's lives are destroyed forever by being named while their false accusers are afforded their anonymity. This is not justice. This is bias, before charges, before arrest, before trial, before conviction.

I wish both sides could achieve balance and realise it's not about one side having preferential treatment; there are victims on both sides. We should fight for fair, balanced investigations and trials, rather than one side being favoured. Justice depicted as scales for a reason.

@AllisonPearson @majorleak2017 @FACTukorg This is why I am advocating the prosecution of false accusers such as serial rape liar Jemma Beale. It’s virtually the only way for innocent victims of false sexual allegations to nail the lies that have been told about them & strip the liars of their lifelong anonymity.
