Unpopular opinion: The most valuable skill for software engineers in the AI era isn't coding. It's judgment. Knowing when to trust AI. Knowing when not to. That's becoming a competitive advantage. Thoughts? 👇

Quick challenge: Can you answer this without guessing? “If your salary stopped today, how many months could your finances support your lifestyle?” Most people can’t. That’s exactly why I built the Freedom Score Dashboard. 60 seconds. No signup. Just clarity. 🔗

I have a question for experienced developers. If AI had existed when you started your career... Would you be a better developer today? Or would you have learned less because you struggled less? Genuinely curious.👇

@FCB_EXT 100%. Salary up, but expertise and network down. Staying 3-4 years compounds way more than I thought.

What's the biggest lie developers are told early in their careers? I'll go first: "Learn more technologies and you'll automatically grow faster." Your turn.

@rohit_jsfreaky Totally agree! It's all about the impact you deliver, not how many tools you know. Shipping real fixes > collecting frameworks. What’s one “boring” win that boosted your career the most?

After 7 years in software development, here's something I wish someone had told me earlier: You don't get paid more for knowing more technologies. You get paid more for solving bigger problems. What career lesson took you years to learn?

@shubhamaidotcom Absolutely agree! The biggest trap early on is chasing new frameworks instead of getting really good at solving actual problems. Focus on impact and the money follows. You've got the right mindset starting out Shubham — keep shipping, keep learning by doing, and you'll go far.

@BerlinKhan01 Interesting. Do you think that's still true once someone reaches senior level?

@urCodeBuddy Totally agree! I do same thing sketch out the logic and flow myself first (usually on paper or in my head with a quick code) then let AI handle the boring scaffolding. Keeps the brain sharp. What’s one trick you use to stay in control when the AI starts going off-track?

Be honest: Has AI made you a better developer, or just a faster one? Curious to hear different perspectives.

@urCodeBuddy So true.... It’s like the difference between memorizing a recipe and actually knowing how to cook. Copy-pasting works great until something tastes off and you have no idea how to fix it. How do you usually balance using AI for speed without losing your own skills?

@urCodeBuddy @urCodeBuddy I agree. AI can accelerate the building process, but the deeper understanding still comes from solving problems ourselves. Do you think junior developers risk becoming too dependent on AI if they skip the fundamentals?

If I could restart my soft engg career today, I wouldn't chase every new framework. I'd invest more time in: • Problem solving • System design • AI tools • Communication Tech changes. The ability to learn compounds. What's one thing you'd tell your younger developer self?
