@strangerous10 @LouPollard Surely a reasonable excuse can influence a judge’s sentencing of a crime. Mitigating circumstances? this judge has confirmed that a crime was committed. Hasn’t he? Can anyone explain why this was not a trial by jury?

@strangerous10 I understood that if you were aware of a crime that would have imprisonment of >6/12 months in NSW, there was an obligation to report it. At least that was the legal advice one org I was on the board received. We had people who didn't want to report it, but we did.

@AmyRemeikis On the other hand, might have been interesting to hear how Sofronoff considered a journalist with a clear personal agenda against Brittany Higgins, and lack of any empathy for Ms Higgins' welfare, was an appropriate person to be trusted with an advance copy of his inquiry report.

@DarylTractor He worked at 11 different centres over that time period. My guess is as soon as there was any suspicion or questions asked, he left. Lots of questions to be answered on how to improve Queensland's Blue Card system after this

@Mon4Kooyong Dr Ryan I personally know of a developer of townhouses who increased the sale price by $25k the day after the program was announced. It just inflated the prices of a development already under construction
