How to tell a manatee is in distress – floating high vs. surface resting Sometimes a #manatee is resting at the surface. If you see an excessively buoyant manatee that has trouble submerging or that may be listing to one side, please call FWC at 1-888-404-3922.

Zamboni the manatee is home! Rescued from cold stress in Placido Bayou, he received care at @ZooTampa, @CMAquarium, & @MyFWC, growing from 306 lbs to 640 lbs. Now, he's thriving after being released at the TECO Manatee Viewing Center!

Morado, a young manatee estimated to be 2-3 years old, was rescued by @MyFWC on 12/24 in St. Pete. After receiving critical care at @SeaWorld and secondary care at the @BishopScienceFL, he made a strong recovery. At 670 pounds, he was ready to return to the wild.
Wicket was rescued on 1/24 as an orphaned calf suffering from a watercraft injury and cold stress syndrome, He was given a second chance thanks to the @MyFWC, @SeaWorld and @BishopScienceFL. After receiving critical and secondary care, he was released at a healthy 650 pounds.
Klondike was rescued from Bear Creek in St. Pete. on 12/23 due to entrapment and cold stress. Received critical care at @ZooTampa before moving to @BishopScienceFL to continue rehab. Estimated to be 2-3 yrs old and 640 lbs. at the time of his release, he is back where he belongs.
Klondike, Morado, and Wicket were released last week Thank you to our incredible @MRP_Manatee partners-especially @BishopScienceFL for their care during the second stage of rehab, and @ZooTampa and @SeaWorld for providing medical support.

On Christmas Eve, Grizzly & Klondike, manatees rescued from Bear Creek in St. Pete, began their rehab journeys. Grizzly is now thriving back in the wild, while Klondike continues his recovery @BishopScienceFL. Huge thanks to all who helped the “Bear Boys”! Wishing them the best!
