Hundreds of children were orphaned by the scandal in which British haemophiliacs were given blood products contaminated with HIV and other diseases. They have never been compensated for the tragedy that in many cases ruined their lives
Almost half (46%) of people living with HIV have experienced stigma while accessing social care. Three quarters (76%) are anxious about having to access it in the future. We're proud to launch our #CantPassItOn social care training with @januszbakes and people living with HIV.
Today the Minister told me he wants to “reclaim the trust of the infected blood community”. For the Government to do this, they need to give clear and timetabled commitments for paying compensation without delay. I am disappointed they were unable to do so today ⬇

April 23rd marks 40 years since scientists discovered that HIV causes AIDs – and now, the UK could be just a few more years away from stopping transmission altogether. That is the hope of leading gay rights activist Jonathan Blake and the Terrence Higgins Trust (@THTorguk).

Almost half (46%) of people living with HIV have experienced stigma while accessing social care. Three quarters (76%) are anxious about having to access it in the future. We're proud to launch our #CantPassItOn social care training with @januszbakes and people living with HIV.
Today the Minister told me he wants to “reclaim the trust of the infected blood community”. For the Government to do this, they need to give clear and timetabled commitments for paying compensation without delay. I am disappointed they were unable to do so today ⬇
