היום למדתי ש: בטרקלין דן בנתב״ג (או ״טרקלין הקמצנות״ כפי שראוי שיקרא) אפשר להזמין ויסקי. אבל לא בבר חלילה. צריך ללכת לפקיד הקבלה, ואז הוא פותח ארון סודי ומוזג לך כוס ויסקי. סוג הויסקי? בלנטיין. עשית זאת שוב, טרקלין הקמצנות, עשית זאת שוב...

A few words on Negroni? Whereas Last Word is my general-purpose go-to cocktail, Negroni would be the choice for the bitter-palatted drinker. It's equal parts Gin/Campari/Red Vermouth, so it's easy to make and requires no juicing and no perishables (except for garnish).

Misty Chich @ Animar: Solid Old-Fashioned-style with strong citrusy note. Rye, Whisky, Earl Grey, Bitter Orange (Orange Bitters maybe?), Bergamot. A little bit on the sweet side with a strong note of orange. Whisky lovers should enjoy it.

Alena Ferrante @ Alena Restaurant (Norman Hotel): A Kombucha Negroni, it's as much fun as it sounds. Campari, Dry Vermouth, Strawberry Gin and Kombucha (!). Fizzy, fruity and bitter. Ingredients play along nicely. More complex than your standard Negroni, but it made me happy.

Whiskey a Go Go @ The Library: Booze & mixer, simple and tasty. Rye (Jim Beam), berry juice, coriander bitters. Works well, frequently ordered all around. Would have appreciated a lower price point for such a drink.

More annoying is the fact that lemon juice wasn't even mentioned as an ingredient for those cocktails. "We don't write all ingredients in the menu", they said. Ammm... Why not? Seems pretty important to me.

Provincial Spare Time @ The Library: Sabotaged by lemon. "It's a Last Word" I rejoiced. Cognac, G. Chartreuse, jasmin syrup. A bit of lemon juice (or better, lime) would have worked here, but again other ingredients hardly noticed (didn't notice any jasmin at all).
