Tony Khan says he was really surprised and disappointed by the statement and warning of Oklahoma State Commission regarding Nyla Rose. Tony says he doesn't think there should be discrimination against transgender wrestlers, or transgender people at all. And that if the AEW locker room can embrace Nyla, the Commission can as well.
The Commission should make a distinction between sports entertainment / pro wrestling and professional sports as it pertains to transgender athletes. The cooperative commitment to safety between opponents in pro wrestling is markedly different than the goal in other combat sports, where the goal is to incapacitate your opponent.
@gberardelli @DrainBamager Yep, it seems odd that the athletes commission would be involved in any way with "sports entertainment"
@UkDreadnaught @gberardelli @DrainBamager AEW is licensed as a professional wrestling company. WWE doesn’t have these problems because they’re licensed as sports entertainment. AEW is not. Oklahoma wasn’t “mistaken” about AEW.
@TMCWDONLINE @gberardelli @DrainBamager I didnt know that, that is interesting.
