The key difference is that QFT assumes something fundamental that has never been demonstrated: that spacetime and the fields exist a priori as the stage on which everything happens. In the TSI, neither spacetime nor the fields are fundamental. They are stable informational modes that emerge from selection within Total Information. What QFT calls a “field” is, in TSI terms, a correlational mode that has survived the selection process, and spacetime itself is another manifestation of those correlations, not a pre‑existing background.
