I agree, Most phones today are capable of the Android version coming each year. There should be atleast 5 years or maybe even lifelong support as long as the System requirements are met by the Software Version (ie Android Version)

Got decent battery life with modern - heavy usage on #OneUI4 #S21+ #Samsung These were on: Wifi, LTE(3hrs), Location, Bluetooth, Nearby & Quick Share, AOD, Dark mode. Used the phone almost constantly. Got 7-8 hrs of Screen on. Heavy usage might get 5.5-6.5 hours. What's yours?
