@Alexander1Ej @STEMatSaunders @SaundersOne Every year we are learning something new through the work of our students. Supporting them in trying to make their ideas (ideas that we never would have thought of!) come to life is an absolute treat. Thank you for all your support and encouragement @Alexander1Ej

This #STEMatSaunders group is conducting tests and data collection (for the math component of the project). They successfully built a solar powered vehicle that stores power in a rechargeable battery pack. A switch allows power from the battery to the motor. #tvdsb

Another #STEMatSaunders project involves creating under water lights that would attract fish to coral reefs in order to maintain important levels of nitrogenous wastes that act as fertilizer. They included a solar panel as its power source. #tvdsb

@melanie_hansel @SaundersOne Sure! They have been using Peltier modules - you may find them in electronic parts stores or online. Basically if there is a temperature difference between the 2 sides of this unit - you will create voltage/current flow. Typically the side with text is the cold side.

After 1 week into our Make Life Better Project, #STEMatSAUNDERS students have made a lot of progress. This group is using heat energy to charge a cell phone. More testing today before they build their prototype. @SaundersOne #tvdsb

@melanie_hansel @MsAGilbert @SaundersOne Hey Melanie, transcription by Microsoft occurred when I uploaded the video to Twitter but it is unrelated to the hologram project. When it comes to the template, it is just printed onto paper and used to cutout a piece a clear plastic that you will fold into the pyramid shape.
