Hard to believe it’s been seven years since we lost one of the greatest humans ever, Ambassador Dan Rooney. Still miss him every day.
We had a chance to meet him in Denver because I want to raffle from North Catholic alumni and instead of Us coming back to Pittsburgh for lunch Mr Rooney suggested we wait for them to come to Denver. That was right after his back surgery so he liked to get up to the press box early. He was Maude by so many people we just let him be and had a nice conversation with Kevin Colbert. The Steelers lost that day in about 4 or 5 days later a box shows up at the house on the Steelers with a note from Kevin apologizing for losing and sending us two hats and two T-shirts. All class. IT WAS MR ROONEY'S IDEA FOR US TO STAY IN DENVER AND WAIT FOR THEM. I FORGET THE SECRETARY WHO RETIRED BUT SHE SAID DON'T LET MAKE THEM COME ALL THE WAY BACK HERE FOR LUNCH WE'LL GIVE THEM TICKETS AND WE'LL SEE WHEN WE GO TO DENVER. #STEELERS
@Teresa_Varley @Blitz_Burgh Dan Rooney knew how to run the Steelers at a championship level. Since he’s been gone the Steelers can’t win a playoff game. In fact they have flounder with questionable personnel, poor planning after Ben & uninspired offensive football. Dan would’ve never let that happen.
@Teresa_Varley 💔 It'll never be the same.
@Teresa_Varley Thank you for the reminder, Teresa. Huge loss for Steelers & football.
@Teresa_Varley @Blitz_Burgh Steelers didn’t win under his dad and won’t win present leadership
