I told ChatGPT to write code that finds a number in a random list of numbers. It came up with this code. I had no idea it could write code. I'm just blown away.
I also specified the language as C#. And it just generated C#. I have no idea how they achieved this.
@TeslaAndDoge Its not using the list arrays and only looking for 500?
@TeslaAndDoge It's pretty amazing. It's also great at explaining code, so a great way to help you understand concepts from an unfamiliar language. It generally even understands common packages within languages. It can also draw ASCII art representing structure, though far from perfectly.
@TeslaAndDoge I've already used it to write (draft, really) full service clients. It's not even deliberately designed for this. I still haven't played with GitHub Copilot, but I'm thinking I need to give it a shot.
@TeslaAndDoge I worked the whole day with it yesterday and wrote most of the code. But it is not only the code. Sometimes it is interesting to see what idea it uses to solve the problem.
@TeslaAndDoge ChatGPT is not very good. GPT-4 is much better.
@TeslaAndDoge I asked it to take an image Icon for Twitter, l told it where my site is, and what my Twitter handle is and to write me code to insert it as a link on my website, and it has to open Twitter in a new tab. And wala...
@TeslaAndDoge You didn’t know? You can even translate from one programming language to another :)
@TeslaAndDoge It's really good until it starts using libraries that don't exist lol
@TeslaAndDoge ChatGPT is my coding buddy now. The time I saved coding with ChatGPT's assistance is unbelievable. Provided you know the right questions to ask, it can teach you things that otherwisw you wouldn't have done.
